Greywacke
Kevin Judd is one of the pioneering winemakers in the Marlborough region. He has played an active role in establishing the reputation of New Zealand wines, notably as cellar master for Cloudy Bay.
In 2009, he created his own estate, which he named Greywacke, in reference to the rocky substrate (sandstone) that is very common near the Wairau River and the surrounding vineyards.
At Greywacke, Kevin Judd produces fine, complex wines made from Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, which are among the best in the country.
