The estate’s “Confidentielles” cuvées are produced on the exceptional schist soils of La Londe, in the foothills of the Maures Mountains. A terroir that gives this rosé a beautiful harmony, with notes of stone fruit, melon, and white flowers (honeysuckle), and a floral character on the palate, with hints of freshness and raspberry... Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the estate:
This is one of the most famous estates in Provence. It belongs to the Combard family, who manage this 85-hectare vineyard, 30 hectares of which are leased. The vines, located along the coast on schist soil, have been cultivated using organic methods since 1979. Steps are currently underway to transition the entire estate to biodynamic farming. We applaud this commitment, which is no small feat for an estate of this size. While the wines are among Provence’s most reliable offerings, the family also goes the extra mile in welcoming visitors and, during the sunny days of the season, offers a cultural program well worth the visit.
