"Named after the valve at the Dombes ponds, this pale-gold wheat beer boasts a rich head. The fresh aroma offers notes of grains and flowers, with subtle hints of citrus. The slightly tart attack gives way to a sustained grainy flavor, where honey, along with notes of English toffee and lime, come through. The finish is refreshing.” (Le Guide Hachette des Bières)

About the wine:

Named after the valve at the Dombes ponds, this light-blonde wheat beer features a rich, frothy head. The fresh aroma offers hints of grains and flowers, with subtle citrus notes. The slightly tart attack gives way to a sustained grainy flavor, where honey, along with notes of English candy and lime, come through. The finish is refreshing.

About the estate:

Located between the Bugey Mountains, the Dombes ponds, and the Bresse region—home to the blue-footed chicken—this brewery, formerly known as Maison de Brasseur, changed its name in the summer of 2015. Its new name is inspired by the river where it was founded. It is now located at the heart of Patrice Pobel’s farm, where he has diversified his barley cultivation to brew his beers. He gives each of his creations a name representative of the Ain region: cultivating the heritage of the place where one lives is, in his view, essential. His beers, which have won numerous awards, are well-known and firmly established in the department. Since 2012, in Vonnas, restaurateur Georges Blanc has been recommending Rivière d'Ain to accompany roasted Bresse chicken.
