Domaine de Marcoux
Located in Orange on the mythical terroir of the galets roulés of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Marcoux estate on 18 hectares of vines is run until 2019 by the Armenier sisters, Catherine and Sophie, one in the vineyard, the other in the cellar. Now that Catherine has retired, Sophie Armenier continues the adventure as a family, alongside her son Vincent Estevenin, who has been with the estate since 2014.
Committed to a certified organic approach since 1991, Domaine de Marcoux follows the precepts of biodynamic viticulture by applying biodynamic preparations (horn dung, silica, dung compost, herbal teas...). A judicious choice which, year after year, enables the wines to express all the richness of an exceptional terroir.
Domaine de Marcoux is one of the most important names in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with its terroir-driven, no-nonsense, fair and profound wines, and "a leader in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation" (RVF).
