Rating: Bettane & Desseauve 16/20, Robert Parker 88–90/100
“Made from three distinct plots—the young vines of Beaucastel, a vineyard in the northern part of the appellation, and a plot located below the Château de Châteauneuf—the wine is smooth and velvety, very harmonious, and brilliantly aromatic. In short, excellent.” (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2009 – Bettane & Desseauve)

About the estate:

Over the past 15 years, the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel has expanded by acquiring estates in the southern Rhône Valley. This strategy has proven successful both in the Luberon, with La Vieille Ferme, and in the other terroirs featured here. Their mastery of fermentation and appropriate aging techniques have played a major role in this success.

A great choice for sharing with friends to introduce them to the appellation!!! A very good classic that can still age for a few more years in the cellar!
