Maison Nicolas Perrin - Condrieu 2011

14/20

RVF

Note: RVF 14/20
This Condrieu offers a very aromatic, exotic nose with citrus and slightly floral notes. On the palate, the attack is clean and the wine is well-balanced. A white wine that leaves a very pleasant impression and has good length. Already delicious!

Wine rated (2014 guide) 14/20 (Good wine)

Rated Estate (2014 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the excellence of French wine production.)

About the estate:

“This very young wine merchant was founded through a partnership between the Perrin family (of Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape) and Nicolas Jaboulet (former director of the family-owned Paul Jaboulet et Fils). These two heavyweights from the southern and northern parts of the valley have launched a small collection of wines from the north. The wines are selected from the barrels before malolactic fermentation at the growers’ estates; aging is then completed at Perrin, near Orange. This is followed by blending. The whites are precise, dry, and well-structured, offering a solid mid-range quality. To date, we prefer the vibrancy and depth of the reds.”
