This cuvée owes its name to the presence of a capitelle—a small dry-stone hut—in the vineyard. The Capitelles des Mourgues red comes from a selection of old plots where Syrah predominates, blended with a touch of Grenache and old Carignan. A tannic blend refined by specific aging in oak barrels: it delivers soft aromas that are both vanilla-like and toasty. A beautiful bottle!

About the estate:
François Collard is a regular in the Guide, with his wines often ranking highly. Established in 1994, he began bottling wines from the family vineyards (65 hectares certified organic since 2014) under two labels: Mourgues du Grès, which belonged to the Ursuline convent of Beaucaire until the Revolution, and La Tour de Béraud, named after a 14th-century watchtower Never short on ideas, the Collard couple invites visitors to explore every facet of the estate via a marked trail equipped with Bluetooth markers.
