“Purple-violet in color, the wine opens with aromas of blackcurrant cream and cinnamon. On the palate, it strikes a perfect balance between a very soft texture and flattering, full-bodied tannins. A seductive range of aromas, with notes of blackberry jam.” (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault Millau)

A true pioneer in the appellation’s quality revival, this estate boasts diverse terroirs that it skillfully blends to create wines that strike a balance between finesse and structure. Rated estate Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

François Collard is a regular in the Guide, with his wines often ranking highly. Established in 1994, he began bottling wines from the family vineyards (65 hectares certified organic since 2014) under two labels: Mourgues du Grès, which belonged to the Ursuline convent of Beaucaire until the Revolution, and La Tour de Béraud, named after a 14th-century watchtower Never short on ideas, the Collard couple invites visitors to explore every facet of the estate via a marked trail equipped with Bluetooth markers.

Tasted in May 2014; deep color, nose of black fruit and spices (pepper), full-bodied on the palate with well-integrated tannins, and a fruity finish; the best wine of the tasting evening

A pleasant wine, full of charm but still a bit young. In three years, it will be in a class of its own.
