Château Mourgues du Grès - Capitelles des Mourgues 2009
Rating: Bettane & Desseauve 15/20, Gault Millau 15/20, Guide Hachette 2** (Remarkable Wine), RVF 14.5/20
“This cuvée, with its bold notes of garrigue, violet, and pepper, highlights a dominant presence of well-ripened Syrah. The texture is firm, ranging from licorice to blackberry jam; the slightly firm tannins call for a flavorful meat to satisfy them!" (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault Millau)

About the estate:
François Collard is a regular in the Guide, with his wines often ranking highly. Established in 1994, he began bottling wines from the family vineyards (65 hectares certified organic since 2014) under two labels: Mourgues du Grès, which belonged to the Ursuline convent of Beaucaire until the Revolution, and La Tour de Béraud, named after a 14th-century watchtower Never short on ideas, the Collard couple invites visitors to explore every facet of the estate via a marked trail equipped with Bluetooth markers.
