“Deep red in color, with an intense bouquet of perfectly ripe fruit (candied cherry), spices, licorice, and violet (contributed by the Syrah), followed by a dense, long palate with silky tannins. A hint of austerity on the finish, however, calls for a little patience. In a year or two, this bottle will pair beautifully with sautéed lamb with cocoa or duck breast with figs.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

About the estate:

François Collard is a regular in the Guide, with his wines often ranking highly. Established in 1994, he began bottling wines from the family vineyards (65 hectares certified organic since 2014) under two labels: Mourgues du Grès, which belonged to the Ursuline convent of Beaucaire until the Revolution, and La Tour de Béraud, named after a 14th-century watchtower Never short on ideas, the Collard couple invites visitors to explore every facet of the estate via a marked trail equipped with Bluetooth markers.
