Rating from the Hachette Wine Guide: 2** (Remarkable Wine) + Editor’s Choice
“The color is dark and deep. The ‘wild’ nose blends animal notes (leather) with ripe fruit and sweet spices. The palate is powerful, generous, smooth, and long, with animal notes always present in the background. A very harmonious, distinguished, and intense wine, best enjoyed with a leg of lamb tied with string within the next five years.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

You get what you pay for, but nothing more. A bit disappointing for a "favorite." Drank the last bottle on 12/11/2013. No improvement.

A Michelin-starred wine + a "favorite"??? Well, I guess my palate needs to redeem itself... No, honestly, I'm very, very disappointed! A tart wine, even after decanting—little nose, even fewer aromas, and not much length on the palate for a Côtes du Rhône... I had two glasses and poured out the rest!

A little Côte du Rhône From now on, I'll be wary of reviews on1jour1vin

Review by Mr. FLORIMOND G. Published on November 20, 2012
A powerful, dark wine. It has tremendous depth on the palate, with strong, woody notes. The transition into black fruit flavors is, however, quite smooth. The finish is light, which might almost seem disappointing given the initial impact. Yet I found it almost poetic, with lingering notes of cloves that are, in a way, soothing. A pleasant surprise for a very, very affordable wine!

A nice little wine for €5!! Too bad they're out of it. I would have gladly ordered some more.

A remarkable wine and a Hachette "favorite"? They need to change the tasters! It’s good for €5, which isn’t bad. But since the tasters aren’t supposed to know that, I remain skeptical when I see they’ve given it a “favorite” rating. It’s short on the palate, with a bit of spice and musk, but no complexity and nothing particularly impressive. Again, it’s already good for €5, but a “favorite”? Come on, give me a break.
