Domaine et Maison Les Alexandrins
Domaine et Maison Les Alexandrins was born out of a partnership between three leading figures from the northern Rhône Valley: Nicolas Jaboulet, a sixth-generation member of a family of winemakers based in Tain l’Hermitage since 1834; Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel of Domaine Sorrel in Hermitage; and Alexandre Caso, an expert on the terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley. They met in 2012 when Nicolas Jaboulet (head of Maison Nicolas Perrin, founded in 2007) and Guillaume Sorrel, in partnership with Alexandre Caso (the two of them having founded Domaine Les Alexandrins in Mercurol in 2009), began working on a plot-by-plot basis with Crozes-Hermitage vineyards to produce wines for Maison Nicolas Perrin. Their shared knowledge of the terroirs and wines that had shaped the history of the Northern Rhône Valley, along with their passion for the region’s great wines, quickly led them to take their collaboration a step further.
In 2014, Alexandre and Guillaume’s desire to promote the wines of Domaine Les Alexandrins, combined with Nicolas’s determination to establish Maison Nicolas Perrin at the heart of the Northern Rhône Valley, led the three men to collaborate more and more closely. Starting in 2015, Maison Nicolas Perrin acquired a majority stake in Domaine Les Alexandrins; Maison Nicolas Perrin then changed its name to “Domaine et Maison Les Alexandrins.” This partnership thus makes it possible to pursue the dream of Domaine Les Alexandrins—to produce wines from the Northern Rhône Valley characterized by pure classicism—and to transform Maison Nicolas Perrin into Maison Les Alexandrins, thereby expanding a portfolio already recognized for its quality for many years across all the appellations of the Northern Rhône Valley.
