Gilles Flacher Estate
Located in Charnas, on the right bank of the Rhône and in the heart of the northern Rhône Valley, this family-owned estate, founded in 1806, was taken over by Gilles Flacher in 1991. Under his stewardship, the estate expanded to its current size of 8 hectares, divided between the Saint-Joseph and Condrieu appellations. Recognizing the quality of the terroir and its importance in producing fine wines, Gilles Flacher takes particular care in tending his vineyards. The challenge lies in the fact that the steep slopes require manual work in the vineyards. In total, there are seven different plots that are vinified separately in order to capture the true essence of the terroirs.

The Gilles Flacher Estate produces Saint-Joseph red wines from the Syrah grape variety, which imparts peppery aromas with a hint of violet, blended with more mineral notes. The white wines of Saint-Joseph are made from Roussanne and Marsanne. The estate also produces the famous Condrieu, a full-bodied and rich white wine made from the Viognier grape, with aromas of white peach and apricot.
