About the domain :
Serge Férigoule is a key figure in the Vacqueyras appellation, and his wines are an integral part of its history. Originally a vineyard worker, he has been the owner of Sang des Cailloux since 1990. Some twenty hectares scattered between Vacqueyras and Sarrians are harvested at perfect ripeness and aged for a long time. In an uncompromising style that almost turns its back on modernity, this domaine produces five red cuvées, whose concentration and delicate touch would benefit from greater aromatic precision. A hint of progress and the blood of the stones will continue to run down the throats of many wine-lovers!

About the wine:
More full-bodied than the Floureto, with notes of violet and blackberry. The acidity is quite marked, the tannins quite firm, a little leathery but supple, finishing slightly grainy, but should calm down with time. Cuvée de vieilles vignes.

About the domain :
This Vacqueyras estate boasts a magnificent terroir on a plateau of rolled pebbles. Certified organic since 2010, and biodynamic since 2012, with strictly controlled yields, the estate produces imposing Vacqueyras that need time to reveal themselves. These well-structured, high-maturity wines, however, are tending to become more refined in recent vintages. Cuvée Lopy can be so rich and dense that, in certain vintages, we may prefer the balance of the entry-level wines. The white, not presented in 2022, is establishing itself as an attractive benchmark in the sector.

About the wine:
The nose is full of liquorice. Round and supple on the palate, with excellent fruit intensity. The tannins are firm and fine, detailed and structuring the dense fruity core. Long, fine and elegant. Needs a year or two to refine, while retaining freshness. Very well-balanced.

About the wine:
The exceptional quality of Vacqueyras 2022 Cuvée Lopy cannot be ignored. Red and black cherry, black plum and licorice mingle with peppery, fleshy accents. Complex and flavorful, this full-bodied wine is firmly structured by ripe tannins and offers a remarkable concentration of flavors. The 2022 Cuvée Lopy finishes with a sweet fruit aftertaste. This is an excellent Vacqueyras for the long term.
