Cosprons Levant
is a Collioure best enjoyed in the fall, as it pairs effortlessly with seasonal dishes such as game or marinated meats. It comes from a two-hectare plot located some 900 meters (as the crow flies) from the sea and benefits from the maritime influence. Shaped by its terroir, which gives it its lovely minerality, this full-bodied and powerful 2007 vintage features generous tannins and a fresh, long finish. A fine bottle from a truly excellent vintage!

Rated 2** stars (Successful production)

About the estate:

Dr. Parcé had undeniably left his mark on the estate and the Banyuls appellation as a whole, which is rooted in its magnificent schist terroirs. As for the Collioures—that is, the dry wines produced in the same geographical area—they have so far provided a good indication of this terroir and its potential. The challenge is great for Jean-Michel Parcé, the son, to maintain this high standard of quality.

Rated estate (2011 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

Le Mas Blanc boasts the largest vineyards in Banyuls. It has been owned by the same family since 1639—the Parcé family, led by Dr. Parcé, a prominent local figure who passed away in 1998 and who played a leading role in the estate for many years.
