About the estate:
Hervé Bizeul, a winemaker and maverick writer, has little left to prove, as his estate ranks among the elite of the Roussillon region. That doesn’t stop him from constantly challenging himself, exploring new avenues, innovating, thinking outside the box, and creating new vintages. A prime example is his Pinot Noir, which came out of nowhere and bravely withstands the harsh sun and the Tramontane winds of the Agly Valley. Here, each cuvée displays a personality all its own, sometimes uncompromising, just like its winemaker. From no fewer than seven different terroirs emerges a serious and diverse interpretation of Roussillon. A model of its kind.

Date: 01/07/2012 Aging potential: Wait 1–2 years – 3–7 years Tasting notes: Not decanted; opened 1 hour ago (should be decanted). Deep red color, intense red fruit nose, tannic on the palate, fresh, vanilla finish—it’s reminiscent of a Recioto from Vapoli, with a sweet, velvety, cocoa-like quality... candied fruit while retaining a nice acidity. Food & Wine Pairing: Veal in cognac sauce (++) Glass: OAKY R
