3*Coup de Coeur

Hachette Bières

“This Hefeweizen has a particularly milky color, and its white, perfectly creamy head is especially enticing. Its aroma is fragrant with honey, cloves, and citrus, with a hint of banana—typical of Hefeweizens—and a distinct fermented character. On the palate, the attack is lively, with tiny bubbles bursting like fireworks, and the texture is creamy. Beneath the creaminess, citrus and banana flavors mingle with notes of grain and fresh bread. The herbaceous bitterness is subtle. Slightly astringent and a bit dry, this beer reveals aromas of lightly toasted almonds on the aftertaste. A truly beautiful wheat beer brewed with Savoyard yeast.” (Le Guide Hachette des Bières)

About the estate:

Brice Leguennec and Pierre François Martin are constantly expanding their lineup with limited-edition brews—you’ve got to be quick to catch them and enjoy them! The success of their core lineup has attracted a loyal customer base eager for new releases. Since the two friends have imagination and energy to spare, they take on projects with that touch of whimsy that sets them apart. Take, for example, the challenge taken on by some English brewers with an “Under Dog IPA,” where the goal was to create an IPA without using the usual hops, and with at least 20% Target hops. Our brewers took the challenge to the extreme, using as much as 60% Target! Their current research focuses on Russian Imperial Stouts, Imperial IPAs, and barrel-aged beers. These are releases to watch for. All their labels have changed; they’re now “flashy” with vibrant, colorful landscapes.
