Notes: Bettane & Desseauve 17.5/20, RVF 17.5/20, Gault Millau 16/20
“A prestige cuvée from a selection of specific plots, the 2006 vintage shows very well in the bottle, with a ripe balance without being overripe, and a fine acidity that remains after malolactic fermentation. Aromas of honeysuckle and honey are subtle; the palate already shows great complexity, with depth and richness. The 2006 vintage attests to the consistent quality of this cuvée, which rivals the finest white wines of Savoie.” (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2010 - Bettane & Desseauve)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
The Magnins are among the most iconic figures in the Savoyard wine region. These two dedicated winemakers, who have been certified organic since 2012, decided to downsize the estate to three hectares starting with the 2018 harvest. While their selection is small, both their white and red wines are truly exquisite.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
This artisanal estate has played a pivotal role in the contemporary history of the Savoyard vineyards. Although the vineyard area has shrunk, Louis Magnin’s meticulous work—both in the vineyard and in the cellar—enables him to achieve exceptional expression in both reds and whites. A perfectionist, he demonstrates a consistency across his various vintages that few producers in this region can match. Less opulent than in the past, the whites emphasize mineral intensity. Among the Mondeuses—flamboyant yet meant for aging—we continue to prefer (often, though not this year!) the vintages aged in tanks over those aged in barrels.
