Bois de Pourquié Estate
Originally cathedral builders, the Mayet family settled in southwestern France around 1830. There, they established the Domaine du Bois de Pourquié on a small plot of land between the Dordogne River and the hillsides of Monbazillac. Initially, in 1852, the property was used for mixed farming, and viticulture remained a minor activity. It was not until after World War II that the vineyard truly flourished, largely due to the modernization of production.
By 1971, the vineyard had expanded to 15 hectares, and the first bottles were released.

Today, Marlène and Alain Mayet run Domaine du Bois de Pourquié, which spans 30 hectares—17 hectares of red and 13 hectares of white.
