Pourquié Wood Estate
Originally cathedral builders, the Mayet family settled in southwestern France around 1830. They established the Domaine du Bois de Pourquié on a few plots of land between the Dordogne River and the hillsides of Monbazillac. Originally, in 1852, the property was used for mixed farming and vines remained marginal. It was only after the Second World War that the vineyard really took off, thanks in particular to the modernization of production.
In 1971, the vineyard reached an area of 15 hectares and the first bottles were sold.

Today, Marlène and Alain Mayet run the Domaine du Bois de Pourquié, which covers 30 hectares—17 hectares of red and 13 hectares of white.
