About the estate:

One day... Stéphane Azémar, a trained architect, and Véronique, an archaeologist, left the Paris region in 1999 to settle on a small estate in Duravel—a village sheltered from the north wind by a ring of hills—and make winemaking their livelihood. They manage their vineyard (7 hectares on the third terrace of the Lot) as a certified organic operation. They also produce saffron.

Review by Mr. JOACHIM B. Published on April 13, 2014

The supply of this wine was limited, and I was very disappointed because I would have gladly bought large quantities of it—this Cahors from the fabulous 2009 vintage is a real powerhouse! Admittedly, this small, up-and-coming estate produces “few” bottles, but the value for money is outstanding. In 2009, this Cahors makes its mark with 16% alcohol; the concentration is immense, and it has significant aging potential.
