"An impressive track record for Alain Brumont in the 1999 vintage. With an inky color, this Vieilles Vignes cuvée combines the aromas of noble oak with those of ripe black fruits. Its concentrated, full-bodied, and rich palate is supported by firm tannins that are already softened by the wine’s smoothness, carrying the finish well into the aftertaste. A fine wine for aging, well-developed.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2002) A fine wine for aging, well-developed!

The cork is in perfect condition; tertiary aromas on the nose; harsh tannins on the palate; no finish. Is this wine past its prime?

Appearance: Deep ruby red with brick-red hues. Nose: Black fruit and vanilla. Palate: Powerful and rich with black fruit, notes of licorice, and a lovely liveliness.
