The cool climate and sandy soils allowed their Syrah and Grenache vines (planted in 1950) to quickly give the best of this exceptional terroir and produce vibrant and flavorful wines. 

As a result, in just four years, this very young estate caught the attention of leading critic James Halliday, who named it "Best New Estate" in 2017. This marked the beginning of a string of awards and recognition from the wine world. 

In 2018 and 2020, AndréBondarwas ranked among the 50 Best Young Winemakers. In 2021,Rayner Vineyardwas ranked among Australia's 50 Best Vineyards. In 2023, the Halliday Wine Companion finally rankedBondar amongAustralia's Top 100 Best Wineries. 

And after being selected in 2023 and 2024 as one of Australia's 10 best value wineries,Bondarwins the coveted title and is voted "Australia's Best Value Winery 2026."
