“A cuvée made from young vines in the four vineyards of Spiegel, Stein, Rosenberg, and Kirchthal: elegance, OTT-style!”

“The Grüner Veltliner Der Ott 2023 is a tribute to the finest terroirs—Spiegel, Stein, Rosenberg, and Kirchthal [...] The nose, with great subtlety, reveals notes of moss, lichen, lemon-scented salt, and damp earth, with a hint of yeast. The palate echoes this subtlety, enriching it with a base of soft, ripe, and juicy fruit, and adding that salty, yeasty texture. The 2023 vintage expresses itself in a creamy, velvety, and elegant blend, with exquisite length and a finish of great freshness. 2028–2045” (Vinous 2024) – screw cap

About the wine:

The Grüner Veltliner Der Ott 2023 is a tribute to the finest terroirs—Spiegel, Stein, Rosenberg, and Kirchthal—crafted from young vines no older than 35 years. It was hand-harvested, pressed in a basket press, and aged in large neutral barrels, where it remained on coarse lees until May of the following year. The nose, with great subtlety, reveals notes of moss, lichen, lemony salt, and damp earth, with a hint of yeast. The palate echoes this subtlety, enriching it with a base of tender, ripe, and juicy fruit, and adding that salty, yeasty texture. The 2023 vintage expresses itself as a creamy, smooth, and elegant blend, with exquisite length and a finish of great freshness. (Very dry) 2028–2045
