This Régnié is already starting to show its character! With a fresh, delicate nose full of flint, smoky notes, and morello cherries, it adds hints of spice, violet, menthol, and chocolate on the palate, before evolving into grenadine. It offers roundness and freshness—a marvel! For an original pairing, try it with foie gras.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

In the center of the village of Chiroubles, on the green balcony of Beaujolais, Christophe, a sixth-generation winemaker, cultivates 16.5 hectares, 14 of which are located in his own vineyard. Using (traditional) semi-carbonic maceration, he destems the grapes in plots where they are not fully ripe. He sells everything in bottles at a fair price, which is what Chiroubles should be sold for. However, we are surprised by the differences in style within the range, noting irregularities in the latest vintages.
