Domaine Cheveau - Saint-Amour Villa Violettes 2019
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"Favorite its Mâconnais wines, Domaine Cheveau now joins the ranks of the greats in Saint-Amour with this cuvée, whose name evokes the family home built in 1685 and located in the village. In the vineyard, it is a blend from three plots planted with 40-year-old vines. In the glass, an exciting wine with an intense color, opening unreservedly to red and black fruits enhanced by delicate floral and woody nuances. This intensity is reflected in a full-bodied, rich, silky palate, supported by velvety tannins and oak that blends perfectly with the fruit. The long, spicy, deep finish is the final touch that wins you over. » (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022) Last bottles available!

About the wine:
Favorite its Mâconnais wines, Domaine Cheveau now joins the ranks of the greats in Saint-Amour with this cuvée, whose name evokes the family home built in 1685 and located in the village. In the vineyard, it is a blend from three plots planted with 40-year-old vines. In the glass, this is an exciting wine with an intense color, opening unreservedly with red and black fruit accented by delicate floral and woody notes. This intensity carries through to the palate, which is full-bodied, rich, and silky, supported by velvety tannins and oak that is perfectly integrated with the fruit. The long, spicy, and deep finish is the final touch that seals the deal.
About the estate:
As representatives of the third generation, Nicolas Cheveau and his wife Aurélie have expanded the estate’s acreage (20 hectares) and focused on bottled wine sales to showcase their terroirs and expertise.
