3*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

Halfway up the Saint-Amour vineyard, on sandstone gravel soil, the estate clearly has everything it needs to produce a high-quality Beaujolais wine. Whole-bunch vinification remarkably highlights Gamay's ability to offer beautiful aromatic intensity (ripe red fruits, floral and spicy nuances). As for the palate, it combines concentration, richness, and elegance. A complete and particularly seductive wine." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)

About wine:

Note and opinion by Mr. DIDIER P. Published on 03/21/2020

I agree with 1J1V's presentation. Good nose, cherry and blackberry on the palate, silky texture, good length. Its finesse is appealing, but it still needs a little time to reach its peak. That said, I can understand why some people are disappointed with this wine. Personally, I am optimistic about its future in the coming years. Already, in March 2020, its finesse is as surprising as its personality. It dominates over two other comparable Saint Amours during a meal. Worth buying again!

I didn't know they made wine in Belgium. Everything about this wine is flat except the price! Even a Beaujolais Nouveau would be better. Don't hesitate to give it a miss!

This Beaujolais opens up beautifully on the fruit in all circumstances. A lovely little bottle.

I bought this to show off to my wine club, but I'm really disappointed with this wine, which is worth 3 stars at most, but I'd give it 0 for the disappointment it gave me. Finishing the bottle was no fun.

Good approach but a little short on the palate, needs to be left to age.
