Agassac Castle
The Château d'Agassac was a very old manor. Local tradition holds that an inscription found in the castle’s underground passages dates its construction to the 11th century. In 1580, the estate passed to a prominent family of parliamentarians, the Pomiès, who retained ownership until the Revolution. Owned by the Gasqueton family since 1960, the Château d'Agassac estate was acquired in 1996 by a major insurance company, Groupama.

The recently renovated Château d'Agassacstill retains vestiges of its past, with its ancient 14th-century walls flanked by more recent towers. Château d’Agassac is one of the most picturesque estates in the Haut-Médoc. The 42-hectare vineyard consists of two plots, each situated on its own gravelly hilltop in the southern part of Ludon. An experienced and dynamic team is dedicated to drawing out the very essence of this exceptional terroir and these old vines with great potential, in order to produce a highly renowned AOC Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois wine, in accordance with the principles of sustainable agriculture.
