Villegeorge Castle
Château de Villegeorge has been managed since 1992 by Marie-Laure Lurton (daughter of Lucien Lurton), who also oversees the operations of Château La Tour de Bessan in the Margaux appellation and Château Duplessis in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation. Château de Villegeorge was designated a "Cru Exceptionnel" in the 1932 Crus Bourgeois classification, and this classification was confirmed in 1966.

The Château de Villegeorge vineyard comprises 12.32 hectares of vines located in the commune of Avensan, on a terroir consisting of deep gravel, low in clay, which is highly conducive to producing great wines. The vines at Château de Villegeorge are cultivated sustainably, with respect for the grapes and the environment. Since 2003, the Terra Vitis certification has recognized compliance with the specifications for sustainable vineyard management.
