Château L'Evangile, founded by the Léglise family in the 18th century and covering approximately 15 hectares, is today a major player in the Pomerol wine region.
The Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) estates acquired this château in 1990, also marking the creation of Château L'Evangile’ssecond wine: Blason de l'Evangile.
The vineyards of Château L'Evangile are planted primarily with Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%), locally known as "Bouchet."
