Château L'Evangile, founded by the Léglise family in the 18th century and covering approximately 15 hectares, is now a major player in the Pomerol wine region.
The Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) estates acquired this château in 1990, also creating Château L'Evangile'ssecond wine: Blason de l'Evangile.
The Château L'Evangile vineyard is mainly planted with Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%), known locally as "Bouchet."
