"The Favorite was put to the vote for this Pomerol. Intense color with purple highlights. The nose is complex and of great finesse, revealing superb notes of blackberry, sweet spices, coffee and fine oak. On the palate, the attack is suave with aromas of blackberry, fresh raspberry and black pepper, followed by a palate structured by racy tannins, whose richness is counterbalanced by judiciously measured acidity. Definitely one of the vintage's great wines". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)

About the wine:

The Favorite was put to the vote for this Pomerol. Intense purple hues. Definitely one of the vintage's great wines.

About the domain :

Owned by Axa Millésimes since 1989, this renowned cru owes its name to the old buildings that once formed a small hamlet. Well-situated on the highest part of the Pomerol plateau, its vineyards form a 10.5-hectare triangle of deep gravel and clay.

Domaine noté Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

A fairly deep purple color, this Petit-Village 2016 still has a closed nose where discreet earthy notes, plum, stewed cherry, chocolate, tobacco and a touch of rose emerge. The palate is medium to full-bodied, straightforward, powdery and lively, with fresh earth flavors on the finish. It needs time, but patience will be rewarded!

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

Owned by the Axa group, Petit-Village, which has seen a succession of different teams, has not always lived up to the expectations of its well-situated terroir. Recent vintages, however, show a positive evolution, with wines that are more elegant, looser and less "Medoc" in style. It seems to us, however, that the cru can still aim higher, under the leadership of Diana Berrouet-Garcia, who took up her post as technical director in 2015.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 96/100

About the wine:

Attractive aromas of slate and stone with an impression of depth and a strongly terroir-driven style. Abundant ripe black fruit with a suave, mellow and very deep palate. A long, classic, homogeneous and powerful Pomerol. To be enjoyed from 2023 onwards.
