Raúl Pérez Pereira is considered one of the world's finest winemakers. 

He grew up in a family already deeply involved in the wine industry and began working in the family winery at the age of 19. He gradually became a leading figure in the Bierzo region, where he founded his own winery,Raúl Pérez Bodegas y Viñedos.

Alongside his already highly regarded estate, he is involved in the development of other Spanish appellations such as Rías Baixas, Tierra de León, and even the Ribeira Sacra. He is said to be a key figure in the new wines produced in Spain, a movement known as "New Spain."

Raúl Pérez has a unique approach to winemaking. His priority is not the winemaking process, but the vineyard. This is why he works on a multitude of projects all over the place, focusing on the vines and the terroir, where he finds the grapes he loves.

He is appreciated by consumers, recognized by his peers, and praised by critics, such as Wine Advocate, Decanter—which calls him a genius—and Bettanne & Desseauve, who named him the world’s best winemaker in 2015.
