Bodega Grandes Vinos
Bodega Grandes Vinos was originally founded in 1997 by five groups of winemakers from the Cariñena region, with support from the Aragon regional government. Bodega Grandes Vinos produces characterful DO Cariñena wines that reflect the personality of their terroir, offering "absolutely stunning" value for money, in the words of Robert Parker.
Bodega Grandes Vinos’s vineyards are spread across 14 municipalities and are planted at altitudes ranging from 320 to 850 meters. The soils are primarily clay-based with limestone in the plains and are rocky and poor at the foot of the mountains. The climate is continental, with cold winters and very hot summers. The average temperature is 14.4°C, with annual rainfall of 435 mm; May and June are the rainiest months of the year.
The grape varieties cultivated by Bodega Grandes Vinos are primarily Grenache, Tempranillo, and Macabeo—the three native varieties of the region—as well as Carignan, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Bodega Grandes Vinos is strongly committed to an environmental protection strategy. Bodega Grandes Vinos’ DO Cariñena wines are exported all over the world.
