"The Genium 2007 is composed of 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan, complemented by Merlot and Syrah. The Grenache and Carignan come from vines that are over 90 years old. It was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. Asian spices, incense, plum, blackberry, and balsamic notes on the nose, in the racy style of Priorat. A remarkable balance (you don't feel the 15.5% alcohol at all) but unfortunately spoiled by overly pronounced barrel aging that overpowers everything else.
