Bodegas Lara Ortiz

Bodega Lara Ortiz took over the vineyard with Cristina Alonso in 2005 to carry on a long family tradition of winemaking in the Ribera del Duero D.O. The Bodega Lara Ortiz vineyard spans the finest soils of the Ribera del Duero, between La Horra and Peñafiel, on stony limestone soils, with a very pronounced local continental climate and very low rainfall. The vineyard is 100% Tempranillo, with vines ranging from 40 to 100 years old. The cellars of Bodega Lara Ortiz date back to the 14th century and are buried 15 meters underground.
