Bodegas Lara Ortiz

Bodega Lara Ortiz took over the vineyard with Cristina Alonso in 2005, continuing a long family tradition of winemaking in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Bodega Lara Ortiz 's vineyards stretch over the best soils of the Ribera del Duero, between La Horra and Peñafiel, on stony limestone soils, with a very accentuated local continental climate and very low rainfall. The vines are 100% Tempranillo, between 40 and 100 years old. The cellars at Bodega Lara Ortiz date back to the 14th century and are buried 15 m below ground.
