Bodegas Lara Ortiz

Bodega Lara Ortiz took over the vineyard with Cristina Alonso in 2005 to carry on a long family tradition of winemaking in the Ribera del Duero D.O. Bodega Lara Ortiz’s vineyard is located on the finest soils of the Ribera del Duero, between La Horra and Peñafiel, on stony limestone soils, with a very pronounced continental climate and very low rainfall. The vineyard is planted exclusively with Tempranillo, with vines ranging in age from 40 to 100 years. The cellars at Bodega Lara Ortiz date back to the 14th century and are buried 15 meters underground.
