Cantina Scagliola
The Scagliola brothers, Maggiorino and Mario, come from a long line of winemakers and have inherited a small vineyard on a hillside in the municipality of San Siro, near the town of Calosso, in the heart of the province of Asti. Although this region is home to one of the highest concentrations of vineyards in Italy, the Scagliolas uphold the reputation of Asti wines through the quality of their work. Meticulous vineyard management and undeniable expertise in winemaking allow this estate to produce excellent red wines that have won numerous awards.
The Scagliola estate’s vines are cultivated using the most natural methods possible. The grapes are harvested by hand, and vinification is carried out with the utmost care. Scagliola wines are made from the region’s traditional grape varieties, such as Nebbiolo and Barbera, to which Pinot Noir and Zinfandel are added to create remarkable wines from the Nebbiolo, Barbera, Langhe, Asti, Alba, and Monferrato appellations.
