Grace Winery - Hishiyama Vineyard Koshu 2024
16,5/20
Jancis Robinson
“Discover a little gem from the Hishiyama district: a 100% Koshu wine—made from a native Japanese grape variety—that’s delightfully aromatic and unique!”
“ More concentrated and complex [...] notes of lime, lemon, and grapefruit, as well as white peach. There are clear mineral and spicy notes in the background. Very lively and quite mineral on the palate, without being austere—the fruit is beautifully present. The finish is slightly salty and offers good length. 2026–2030” (Jancis Robinson 2026) - Screw cap

About the wine:
The Hishiyama Vineyard Koshu is more concentrated and complex than the Misawa Akeno Koshu we just tasted: notes of lime, lemon, and grapefruit, as well as white peach. There are clear mineral and spicy notes in the background. Very lively and quite mineral on the palate, without being austere—the fruit is beautifully present. The finish is slightly salty and offers good length. 2026–2030
