Gournier Estate
In 1983, Maurice Barnouin—a pioneer of the Cévennes IGP—took over his father’s fruit farm, which he had established in the late 1950s. There, he developed a vineyard on these cool lands at the foot of the Cévennes. Today, the family owns 180 hectares across two estates: the Domaine de Gournier and, since 2009, the Mas Brès, with 45 hectares farmed organically and planted with 23 different grape varieties.

Domaine Gournier is situated on the slopes of the Gardon River and benefits from a unique location due to the cool air that descends from the Cévennes and is trapped in a subsoil composed primarily of clay and limestone. After extensive work in the vineyards, carried out with great respect for nature and the environment, the grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness and then vinified variety by variety.
