Gournier Estate
In 1983, Maurice Barnouin, a pioneer of the Cévennes PGI, took over his father's fruit farm in the late 1950s. He developed a vineyard on these cool soils in the Cévennes foothills. Today, the family owns 180 hectares across two estates: Domaine de Gournier and, since 2009, Mas Brès, 45 hectares farmed organically and planted with 23 different grape varieties.

Domaine Gournier is located on the slopes of the Gardon river and enjoys a unique location due to the cool air that descends from the Cévennes mountains and remains trapped in the mainly clay-limestone subsoil. After a great deal of work in the vineyards, with great respect for nature and the environment, the grapes are harvested at perfect maturity and then vinified variety by variety.
