Domaine Nairaud-Suberville - Clos la Goutte Noire 2015
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"Ranked third Favorite the last five editions of the Guide, this wine speaks for itself! With its deep garnet color and purple highlights, the 2015 vintage shows great promise. Intense and rich, the nose exudes delicious aromas of jammy fruits (blackberry, strawberry, cherry). The palate is full-bodied, dense, fruity and robust, structured by vigorous tannins that promise good aging potential." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

About wine:
Favorite the Guide's last five editions, this wine is a real showstopper! With its deep garnet color and purple highlights, the 2015 vintage shows great promise. Intense and rich, the nose exudes delicious aromas of jammy fruits (blackberry, strawberry, cherry). The palate is full-bodied, dense, fruity, and robust, structured by vigorous tannins that promise good aging potential.
About the estate:
After several years at the INAO, Daniel Nairaud set his sights on the sandy clay soils of Châteaumeillant and acquired a vineyard of nearly 8 hectares in 2011. He quickly established himself as a sure bet in the appellation. He also runs the Bituriges Vins wine merchant business, founded in 2013.

Fruity wine, but still a little austere

I didn't particularly enjoy this wine, which was austere and lacking in richness.

A lovely fruitiness. Well-rounded on the palate. Overall, it's pleasant but well below a Gamay from Ruet... so not a Favorite.

Cherry juice! Surprising. Still a little astringent (tasted in June 2017), which should fade with age. Interesting, a truly atypical wine. At this price, it would be a shame to miss out.

A magnificent vintage, bursting with fruit and complemented by supple, velvety tannins. A beautiful long finish. Definitely a bottle that does justice to its relatively unknown appellation!

A pleasant wine, but it lacks a touch of madness.

Interesting and original, this wine should improve with age, but it remains a modest wine that is overpriced.
