Complices de Loire - Montlouis-sur-Loire Clair de Lune 2015
2*Étoiles
Hachette
“Clair de Lune? Another name for Chenin (or Pineau de la Loire). The pale, brilliant yellow hue of this 2015 vintage evokes the color of the moon at night. Fermented and aged in barrels, this wine reveals a broad palette of aromas on the nose: white flowers, apple, boxwood, lemon, and citrus. On the palate, it is a lively, straightforward dry wine, yet without harshness, lingering in a long, lemony finish.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018) A dry Montlouis-sur-Loire at a very attractive price!

A delicate nose of white flowers, enlivened by light citrus notes and a hint of minerality. There are also very subtle notes of oak (buttery). The palate is lively and straightforward. Lime dominates from the attack to the finish while maintaining a certain elegance. A lovely discovery! Tasted with lobster and sea bass in a salt crust.
