“Made from a forty-year-old vineyard planted on schist, this 2015 has been unanimously praised for both its current qualities and its potential. Its intense golden color hints at rich notes of candied fruit with a touch of minerality. On the palate, it is full-bodied and round—a masterpiece of concentration, elegance, and freshness. ” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

About the wine:

Made from a forty-year-old vineyard planted on schist, this 2015 vintage has been unanimously praised for both its current qualities and its potential. Its intense golden color hints at rich notes of candied fruit with a touch of minerality. On the palate, it is full-bodied and round—a masterpiece of concentration, elegance, and freshness.

About the estate:

At the helm of this nearly 50-hectare estate since 1993, Vincent Loiret—the fourth of his name to run the operation—is based not far from the Musée du Vignoble Nantais in Le Pallet, one of the towns most renowned for Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine. He has focused his efforts on modernizing and expanding the winemaking facilities and cellars.

Still a bit closed in the first bottle. Pleasant, full-bodied, and complex in the 2019 tasting.

Beautiful golden color, fairly complex on the nose. Good length on the palate and well-balanced acidity. A very good buy.

It’s rare to taste a Melon de Bourgogne with this level of complexity, intensity, and body.

That characteristic sparkle of the appellation is perfectly at home here. It makes your mouth water, and you’ll appreciate the lovely acidity on the palate, accompanied by notes of exotic fruits and citrus. Superb!

Review and comment by Mr. CLAUDE M. Posted on February 14, 2017

We served this wine as an aperitif. It had a subtle citrus aroma on the nose, with a pleasant freshness on the palate and a light acidity on the finish. It was very well received.
