Denis Dubourdieu had recognized the untapped potential of Malta’s terroirs. In the 1980s, he partnered with Mark Miceli-Farrugia to found Meridiana Estate. Upon Denis Dubourdieu’s death, a prominent Italian family took up the mantle at Meridiana Estate: the Antinoris, who already owned the prestigious Sassicaia and Ornellaia estates.
