Kumeu River

Kumeu River is a family story, the Brajklovich family. Arriving in 1937 from Croatia, the family initially worked as vineyard laborers before purchasing their first land in 1944. Michael Brajklovich, from the third generation, took the Kumeu River estate to its highest level thanks to his keen knowledge of the vineyard and his winemaking skills in France. In 1989, he obtained the prestigious Master of Wine qualification, becoming the first New Zealander to do so.
