Mas de Valériole
The Michel family has been running Mas de Valériole since the late 1950s. Located in the heart of the Camargue Regional Nature Park, Mas de Valériole is named after the estate’s founder in 1426, François de Valériole, a physician from Arles.
Mas de Valériole is a 22-hectare vineyard that has been certified organic since 2006, under the Bouches-du-Rhône PGI. The two Michel brothers have divided the farm’s responsibilities between them: Jean-Paul is in charge of growing wheat, rice, and sunflowers; Patrick is the winemaker. Patrick undertook the restructuring of the vineyard by uprooting grape varieties that were not performing well in favor of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Caladoc, Marselan, Chardonnay, and Vermentino.
The estate produces two lines of wines corresponding to the two geographical areas of the property: Mas de Valériole and Domaine Saint Vincent.
