"Wishing to reconnect with the wine merchant past of their father Gaston, Patrick Brunel and his son Maxime (Château de la Gardine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape) created this wine merchant business in 2007, offering wines from across the valley, from north to south. Made from Grenache (55%) and Syrah, this Cairanne immediately wins you over with its inviting nose of crushed raspberries and undergrowth. The palate is flavorful and very long, supported by fine, silky tannins that give it great suppleness and elegance. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015)

A promising first tasting. Fruity and complex. Decant before serving.

Very good, but the bottle size is inconvenient for storing in the cellar.

"Remarkable" and even rated 2** by the Guide Hachette. But what else? A little Cairanne to drink with friends, in my humble opinion, quite a long way from, for example, Perrin's Peyres Blanches 2011 or Marcel Richaud's Cairanne, which is powerful yet harmonious.

Excellent value for money, a beautiful balance between power and smoothness. A true Gem Rhône region that comes highly recommended!
