Robert Parker
“Owned by the Gasparri family since 1920, this estate—known for its consistent quality—has reached a new milestone with this remarkable cuvée from start to finish. The dark, dense color hints at beautiful concentration. The nose, both powerful and elegant, blends red and black fruits, garrigue, fresh leather, and subtle animal notes. Full-bodied and long on the palate, it charms with its smoothness and richness, underscored by well-integrated yet velvety tannins. The wine, a model of harmony, will continue to gain complexity over the next five years.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)

Rated Estate (2013 Guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, though we are unable to offer a general assessment of the style of its entire lineup)
About the estate:
The estate does not extend across a single hillside—even an idyllic one—but rather across several well-located parcels in the southern and central parts of the appellation. It also owns two and a half hectares in the Côtes du Rhône. The estate as a whole has made good progress.

Tasted with a spicy dish from Réunion, this wine was very fruit-forward but still young and harsh. The tannins should mellow within two years.
