Ruth Castle
Château de Ruth is located in Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes, northeast of Orange, in the heart of the southern Côtes-du-Rhône terroirs. The estate is one of the oldest in the Rhône Valley, its name first appearing in 1561. Under Louis XIV, it housed a convent, the remains of which still remain. It has been owned by several illustrious families in succession (Maurice Trintignant, famous racing driver, the Beauharnais family, direct descendants of Empress Josephine).

Vincent Moreau, a winegrower from Cairanne, Rasteau and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, was seduced by the beauty of Château de Ruth and the quality of its vineyards, and bought the property in 2010. He devotes all his know-how and enthusiasm to producing quality wines from the fabulous terroirs of the southern Côtes du Rhône. The vineyard now covers 110 ha, mainly in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages and Côtes-du-Rhône appellations. Vincent Moreau has carried out major restructuring work in the vineyard to get the best out of this excellent terroir.

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, the latter grown in goblets on the estate's heights, reach an average age of 80 years. The grape varieties for the white wines are Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier. Round and fruity, Château de Ruth wines reach full maturity in the year following harvest, and can be kept for 5 to 10 years for the reds, depending on the cuvée.
