" This Pitchoun, the latest addition to the estate's Costières range, has a beautiful bouquet of red fruits and spices. An engaging introduction complemented by notes of licorice, with an elegant, full-bodied, smooth, and mellow palate, underpinned by firm tannins and good aging potential. Full-bodied and fruity." Best enjoyed with roast pork, but its spiciness also makes it perfect for enhancing flavorful dishes such as pizza, pork cheeks with green pepper, or beef tenderloin with ginger. It also goes well with wild mushroom risotto...

Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier are part of a new generation of young wine merchants in the Rhône Valley. Deeply involved in the production of their wines, they work with their winemaker friends throughout the year and preserve the expressions of the terroirs. The style is structured without excess, with perfect aromatic definition. The duo continues to evolve, and their range extends from Hermitage in the north to Luberon in the south, including Côte-Rôtie, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Costières-de-Nîmes, and now even includes partnerships as far afield as Roussillon! Recently, the adventure has expanded to Bordeaux.

About the estate:

Founded in 2004 by François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier, two wine professionals who decided to produce their own vintages after working for others, this wine merchant has gone from strength to strength over the years, producing high-quality wines from selected vineyards. In 2013, the two partners took over the Dom. des Muretins estate (Tavel and Lirac) and in 2014 developed a range of Bordeaux wines in collaboration with Patrice Hateau.

Not bad, quite well appreciated by the guests. Needs to age for 1 year, lacks smoothness.
