87/100

Robert Parker

"The 2012 Pigeoulet de Brunier is made from Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Carignan. It offers notes of red fruit, undergrowth, spices, and floral scents in a relatively complex, medium-bodied, supple, and elegant blend. Drink within 2 to 3 years, and until 2017. " (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker). A lovely red wine that can be enjoyed immediately and pairs well with all kinds of cuisine...

Rated estate (2015 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Under the name Vignobles Brunier, we have brought together the estates of Vieux Télégraphe, La Roquète (renamed Accent de La Roquète from the 2011 vintage onwards) and Les Pallières in Gigondas, all owned by the Brunier brothers. Three benchmark estates. The splendid pebbles of La Crau, a warm terroir, are the source of the distinctive character of Vieux Télégraphe wines. The estate produces an important and unique cuvée of great consistency. Grapes that are lightly or not at all destemmed and aged in old casks produce rich wines that need to be cellared for a long time to dissipate their energy. They then rediscover all the minerality of this superb terroir. Located in the center of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the vineyard is mainly planted on the Pielong plateau and in the sandier Pignan district. La Roquète became, in 2011, L'Accent de La Roquète, produced from the finest grapes. The wines are always straightforward and pure, more elegant than imposing. The rest is downgraded to the Le Télégramme cuvée, a newcomer to the French market. And finally, the Les Pallières estate, a magnificent Gigondas vineyard located on terraces below the Dentelles de Montmirail. The wine expresses itself in a deep, structured style without heaviness.
