Sébastien Fraychet, the cellar master, had a lucky hand in 2010, a vintage to be remembered for Vinsobraise: a favorite and a shower of stars for four selected wines. This Therapius cuvée, which gives pride of place to Syrah, has an elegant, dense, deep red color verging on black—a sign of an intense, complex bouquet that combines red and black fruit compote, vanilla, roasted coffee, sweet spices, and violet. The palate is a model of its kind: highly concentrated and rich but not heavy, with volume and length, round and perfectly chiseled tannins, just the right amount of oak, and intense fruitiness. Definitely a wine for aging, to be kept for at least three to five years.
