Château Combel-la-Serre

Château Combel-la-Serre is a family-owned estate located 17 km from Cahors on the Cournou plateaus, at an altitude of 300 meters. It is run by father and son, Jean-Pierre and Julien llbert, who strive to constantly seek fruitiness and freshness in their wines.

The Château Combel-la-Serre vineyard covers 26 hectares of vines, mainly planted on clay-limestone soil. Since 2013, the vineyard has been certified organic. The vineyard is divided into two parts: the "Grand Cru" vineyard, which covers 10 hectares and is planted with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the "Vignoble" vineyard, which covers 16 hectares and is planted with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is planted with vines that are 10 to 20 years old. The vines are pruned using the traditional "gobelet" method, which involves training the vine on a single trunk and then training the branches on stakes. Château Combel-la-Serre has a winery and a high-quality barrel cellar, enabling it to take all the necessary care to produce wines that combine aromatic complexity and freshness. Julien Ilbert, the son, is part of a new generation of winemakers who embody the revival of the Cahors appellation with wines of rare deliciousness.
